What Is LinkLaunch NT?
LinkLaunch NT is a dynamic drive mapping tool for Windows NT. When an
application is launched using LinkLaunch NT, drive mappings and network connections
are created on the fly. When the application is closed, the mappings and
connections are deleted. LinkLaunch NT can create multiple drive mappings with the
click of a single icon, permitting dynamic mapping to data directories as well as
to applications.
LinkLaunch NT is a 32-bit version of LinkLaunch, the 16 bit utility for
Windows 3.x and Windows 95. It is designed with special considerations for launching
and monitoring both 16 bit and 32 bit applications in the Windows NT
environment.
Although it is primarily an application launcher, LinkLaunch NT can also be
used to manage static drive mappings. Rather than using the network dialog
boxes, users can map or unmap drives by clicking on LinkLaunch icons.
Because LinkLaunch NT is a Windows command line utility, it is compatible with
any Windows shell including Program Manager, the Windows Explorer, Norton
Desktop, and Saber Menu System.
