Icons and the Icon Manager 32
LinkLaunch NT ships with three icons embedded in the executable file. The
default icon,
is used to denote linking and launching an application. To make program items
appear more meaningful, you may want to assign other icons to your LinkLaunch
program items and shortcuts. Using Program Manager, this can be accomplished
with the "Change Icon" button in the "Item Properties" dialog. Other Windows
shells have a similar procedure.
To facilitate changing icons, the Icon Manager 32 utility is included with
LinkLaunch NT. It allows you to copy icons from any *.EXE or *.DLL to a LinkLaunch
Icon File (*.LIF). LinkLaunch icon files are in 16 bit executable format and
can serve as libraries for frequently used icons. This is especially useful
for applications that reside on servers that are normally not attached.
The other icons that ship in LLNT.EXE are useful to symbolize creating and
deleting persistent drive mappings. If you are creating desktop items to create or
delete drive mappings using the '-p' or '-d' options, you may want to use
these icons.
